When you create a TextFixer account, we collect:

We automatically collect information about how you use TextFixer:

• Number of text corrections per month

• Which platforms you access TextFixer from (Android, web, browser)

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not handle, store, or see your credit card details. Stripe processes payment according to their privacy policy.

• Notify you of billing issues or subscription changes

3. Text Processing and OpenAI

TextFixer uses OpenAI's API to process your text corrections.

• Your text is sent to OpenAI servers to generate corrections
• OpenAI may retain your data according to their own privacy policy and data retention practices
• By using TextFixer, you acknowledge that your text will be processed by OpenAI
• We have no control over how OpenAI retains or uses data sent to their servers
• For sensitive or confidential content, please review OpenAI's privacy terms before using TextFixer

4. How We Store Data

Your Text

We do not store your text. It is processed and immediately discarded.

Your Email and Account Information

Your email address and account settings are stored on our PostgreSQL database.

• This data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• Access is restricted to essential personnel only
• We maintain regular backups for service continuity
• Your data is retained for as long as your account exists

Usage Metrics

Usage metrics are aggregated and stored to improve our service. We do not link metrics to your identity.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties.

We share data only with:

• OpenAI: Your text is sent to their API for corrections (see section 3)
• Stripe: Your payment information for billing purposes
• Postmark: Your email address for sending important account notifications
• Render: Our hosting provider, which hosts our servers (your data is encrypted at rest)

These third parties are bound by confidentiality agreements and privacy terms. We do not share usage metrics or personal data beyond what is necessary for service delivery.

We implement industry-standard security measures:

TextFixer does not use cookies to track you across the internet or build profiles about you.

• Email and account information: Retained for as long as your account exists
• Usage metrics: Retained indefinitely in aggregated form
• Text content: Not retained (deleted immediately after processing)
• Payment records: Retained as required by law (typically 6 years)

When you delete your account, your email and account information are deleted within 30 days. Aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be announced via email.

Your continued use of TextFixer after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
